Quebec postpones school ministry exams to end of January, beginning of February

Quebec Education Minister Bernard Drainville confirmed Friday that ministry exams have been postponed to the end of January into February due to strike days.

In a press release, the Ministry says all students in the public and private networks will have more time to prepare.

“Not all students who have missed many school days are ready to take their ministerial exams on the dates originally scheduled for January,” Drainville said. “They need to be given time to catch up on the necessary learning and prepare for these important assessments. Our young people must not be penalized and must have the same opportunities throughout Quebec.”

The time and location of the tests will be communicated to students by the schools.

“It is to promote their success, our primary objective, that we have chosen to postpone the ministerial exams,” Drainville added.

High school and elementary school exams will begin as of January 22 for various subjects.

To schedule of the exams can be found on the Ministry’s website.
