Two bodies found amid house fire in Rawdon: Sûreté du Québec

By News Staff

Two bodies were found overnight after a house fire in Rawdon, in the Lanaudière region.

A call came into 911 from someone inside the home around 1:20 a.m. to report the fire on Rectory Garden street, but the line cut off, said Sûreté du Québec (SQ).

By the time firefighters arrived, the blaze had spread throughout the entire house. While extinguishing the flames, the two bodies were discovered.

No details about the victims have been released, and autopsies must be completed to confirm their IDs – but SQ adds that two people who lived in the house, a man and a woman who were around 70 years old – are considered missing.

SQ major crime investigators will work to determine the possible causes and circumstances of this event.
