15-year-old dies after falling off chairlift in Morin-Heights: SQ

By The Canadian Press

A 15-year-old teenager died Friday evening after falling from a chairlift at a ski resort in Morin-Heights, in the Laurentians, police say.

Sûreté du Québec officers made their way to the scene around 10 p.m.

“According to initial information, the young man fell from a ski lift,” SQ spokesperson Camille Savoie said. “Resuscitation attempts were first carried out by ski resort staff, and also by paramedics before he was transported to a hospital where he was unfortunately pronounced dead.”

The SQ is investigating the incident, which does not appear to be criminal in nature, they say.
