Transit authority exploring Green Line metro expansion to Lachine

Is expanding the Montreal metro from Lasalle to Lachine a good idea? Or creating a tramway linking Lachine to downtown?

Those are some ideas being explored to enhance transportation in Montreal’s Sud-Ouest.

The region’s transit authority (ARTM), Quebec Transport Ministry and City of Montreal are asking for input from the public regarding six options that would link Dorval, Lachine, LaSalle and Verdun with the downtown core.

This follows nearly two-and-a-half years of studies, which began in 2021.

The ARTM will present its studies to the public during free information sessions in different parts of the city.

A final decision is expected this year.
