Suspect in Longueuil shooting sentenced to five years

The Service de police de l’agglomération de Longueuil (SPAL) say that the main suspect in a shooting that took place almost nine months ago at a single-family home was sentenced to five and a half years in prison.

Longueuil Police said Gandhi Estimé, pleaded guilty last Friday to charges of illegal possession of a firearm, negligent use of a firearm and breach of an order.

The shooting occurred on the morning of April 21 at a residence on Daniel street. Two suspects were quickly apprehended by SPAL officers, and a third managed to escape.

The 39-year-old was arrested as the shooter.

After an investigation, SPAL was able to identify Gandhi Estimé and he was arrested on December 20.
