Woman found dead in Pointe-aux-Trembles apartment

A woman in her 30s was found unresponsive around 8 a.m. this morning, in an apartment in Pointe-aux-Trembles.

She was reportedly stabbed to death.

Montreal Police (SPVM) responding to the call of the incident on Sherbrooke East Street, near Yves-Thériault Avenue.

Emergency services were also called and they were unable to revive the victim.

According to SPVM spokesperson Sabrina Gauthier, “a man has been arrested in connection to the murder.”

Police did not confirm the relationship between the victim and the man, but this may possibly be a femicide as the man is said to be the woman’s husband.

A security perimeter has been established and a command post will be set-up soon to allow investigators and forensic technicians to canvass the scene.
