5 injured in Montreal hit-and-run, driver at large

By The Canadian Press

Montreal police (SPVM) are investigating after a hit-and-run left five people injured Sunday night.

Three adults and two children were transported to hospital with minor injuries considered non-life-threatening.

It happened around 9:30 p.m. in Montreal’s LaSalle borough, at the intersection of Lapierre and Cordner streets.

Initial information collected by police suggests that the driver at fault failed to make a mandatory stop at the intersection and hit the victims’ vehicle, then fled on foot.

The collision squad and canine unit were called to the scene.

As of Monday morning, the SPVM says no suspect has been identified.

An investigation is ongoing.
