Major road closure in heart of downtown Montreal due to sewer repairs

Motorists and pedestrians beware: major road closures are in effect near Concordia University in the heart of downtown Montreal due to repair work to a sewer.

A sewer pipe collapsed at Sainte-Catherine West and Guy last week and the city said repairs were needed.

Crews have to go 16 feet underground from inside the sewer to do the work.

There will be closures until Feb. 5, with only local traffic possible at:

  • Sainte-Catherine West – between Saint-Mathieu and Guy
  • Guy Street between René-Lévesque and de Maisonneuve
