By The Canadian Press & News Staff

An earthquake was felt in Huntingdon on Thursday morning. Some also feeling a little of it in Pincourt and Pierrefonds, among other places.

Earthquakes Canada reported a magnitude 3.7 earthquake occurred at 7:37 a.m. in Quebec, southeast of Valleyfield Quebec and 50 kilometres south-west of Montreal.

An hour later, the federal agency reported no damage associated with the earthquake.

Seismologists use a magnitude scale to measure an earthquake. They pointed out that an earthquake of the magnitude experienced on Thursday morning is often felt, but rarely causes any damage.

This was the second earthquake reported in Quebec by Earthquakes Canada since the start of the year.

On Jan. 4, a 3.0 tremor occurred in the La Malbaie region of Charlevoix.
