Smog warning in effect for Montreal

By News Staff

Environment Canada issued a smog warning for the Montreal area Wednesday.

The weather agency says high concentrations of pollutants are expected and will result in poor air quality from the afternoon into the evening.

They warn that smog especially affects asthmatic children and people with respiratory ailments or heart disease.

For these individuals, it’s recommended to avoid intense physical activity outdoors until the smog warning is lifted.

According to air quality index website, IQAir, Montreal is considered moderate for air pollution levels.

Environment Canada encourages citizens to monitor alerts and forecasts.
