Sûreté du Québec: Two people found dead in L’Épiphanie

By The Canadian Press

Two people were found unconscious in a residence on Onulphe Peltier Street, in L’Épiphanie, Lanaudière, on Monday.

Emergency services were called to the residence around 3:30 p.m., said Sûreté du Québec (SQ) spokesperson Sergeant Ève Brochu-Joubert.

Both victims were in their 80s and the deaths appear suspicious according to the SQ.

The investigation was immediately turned over to the Crimes Against the Person Investigation Department, which is accompanied by crime scene technicians to analyze the scene.

Reports are that the man allegedly murdered his wife before taking his own life.

This would be the third femicide in Quebec this year if confirmed.
