Some Laval residents have had their personal information leaked in a cyberattack.

The Centre intégré de santé et de services sociaux (CISSS) de Laval says the breach happened at Segma Recherche, which conduced surveys on behalf of the CISSS de Laval.

Patients part of the breach are those who had a consultation between July 1 and Dec. 31, 2022, and who had appointments at Cité-de-la-Santé Hospital, at the Centre ambulatoire en santé mentale René-Laennec and at CLSCs.

“Personal information may include first names, last names, phone numbers, telephone, the reasons for consultation, the services obtained, the date the service was provided and the file number of users affected by this cyberattack,” the CISSS said in a news release.

“We are aware that this situation may cause concern and we are taking the situation very seriously. The security and protection of our patients’ personal data is a priority for us.

“If you have any doubts about a call received or if you suspect that you have been a victim of fraud, it is important to report the event to your police department.”
