A senior’s coalition is organizing a major summit to discuss home support for the elderly in Quebec.
It’s scheduled for May 8 in Quebec City.
It’s a follow-up on the report by the Health and Welfare Commissioner, Joanne Castonguay, in January, which expressed concern about the home-care and support model in Quebec and called for it to be reviewed.
Castonguay will be giving the opening address at the summit, which is being organized by the Coalition pour la dignité des aînés, a group of six associations with a total of 150,000 members.
Discussions at the summit will focus on the findings and recommendations of the report.
The aim, to reach an agreement based on a list of specific and concrete demands, which will then be presented to the CAQ government.
