Suspect facing first-degree murder charge for Montreal North death

By News Staff

Montreal Police (SPVM) arrested a suspect Wednesday in connection with the shooting death of a 45-year-old man in Montreal North last summer.

On July 25, 2023, SPVM received a report that a man in his 40s was missing after not returning home.

The next day, the police located his vehicle at the intersection of Paris Ave. and Fleury Street.

The victim’s body was found under a blanket in the vehicle parked in a residential area – with a gunshot wound.

This marked the city’s 16th homicide of 2023.

The investigation led to the arrest of a 60-year-old suspect in the Villeray-Saint-Michel-Parc-Extension borough.

He will appear at the Montreal courthouse Thursday to face first-degree murder charges.
