Man shot near Brossard hotel

By News Staff & The Canadian Press

Longueuil police (SPAL) are investigating after a 26-year-old man was hit by at least one firearm projectile near a hotel in Brossard overnight.

The victim walked into the Hôtel Brossard asking for help. Authorities say he was taken to hospital with serious injuries, but is expected to survive. He is said to be known to police.

SPAL received 911 calls at 3:15 a.m. after the man arrived at the hotel on Marie-Victorin Blvd.

There have been no arrests so far.

It is still unclear whether the victim was a guest of the hotel, or just happen to be nearby when he was shot.

SPAL is asking any witnesses to come forward by calling 450-646-8500.
