A 71-year-old man is dead after a shooting in front of a restaurant in Saint-Laurent Monday night.

Montreal police (SPVM) received multiple 911 calls at 11:20 p.m. about the shooting in the parking lot of a restaurant on Marcel-Laurin Blvd., near Thimens Blvd.

“When the police arrived on the scene, the suspects had already fled by a vehicle and they found an unconscious man on the ground,” says Sabrina Gauthier, spokesperson for the SPVM.

The victim was hit in the upper body while alone in the car.

According to Gauthier, the victim was shot at least three times.

He was transported to hospital, where he later died.

No arrests have been made and a security perimeter remains in place to allow investigators and forensic technicians to canvass the scene.

Last month, the same restaurant, Rosana, was targeted with a molotov cocktail, but sustained only minor damages.

“We have no suspects on the table for now, but we are still looking for camera footage, and maybe witnesses,” concluded Gauthier.
