Ville-Marie Expressway closed in both directions over the weekend

The Ville-Marie Expressway, or Route 136, will be closed this weekend for construction work on the Ville-Marie and Viger tunnels — beginning March 8 at 11 p.m. until March 11 at 5 a.m.

The westbound closure will be between Panet and the entrance from Lucien-L’Allier.

The eastbound side will be closed between exit 4, Victoria Bridge/R.-Bourassa Blvd./de la Montagne, and the entrance from Atateken.

Westbound traffic will be diverted onto Viger and Saint-Antoine, and eastbound drivers will be diverted onto Saint-Jacques and Saint-Antoine.

The work could be postponed, extended, or cancelled due to any changes in weather conditions or operational constraints.

Detour routes will be marked with temporary signage and police will be present to facilitate traffic.

On-ramps will be closed 30 minutes prior to the highway closure. 

Transport Ministry suggests consulting Québec 511 before you head out on the road.
