Warm weather forces early closure of Old Port skating rink

While Montrealers are rejoicing in the unseasonably warm temperatures this month, the heat has wreaked havoc on winter sports and activities.

On Wednesday, the Old Port of Montreal announced it was closing its skating rink early because of the warm weather.

The Old Port’s social media account took it in stride, though, already looking ahead to next winter.

“Wow, we had so much fun this winter!” it wrote on X. “Can’t wait to see you with your skates again next year!”
