Bar B Barn, on Montreal’s West Island, is now officially closed – earlier than planned.

If you weren’t one of the many standing in line waiting to get in over the last week – then you missed your chance.

Just a few days ago – the owners announced that the the restaurant was closing March 17 – but after the weekend that just past, they decided those would be the last meals served.

Thomas McQueen told CJAD 800 that it was “a very emotional and exhausting week.”

He and his family own the land and building in DDO, but have said it’s too early to say what they’ll do with them.

The restaurant has been known for their famous ribs and chicken since 1967, when they opened their first location on Guy Street in downtown Montreal.

They opened their second location on Sources Blvd. in Dollard-des-Ormeaux.

The original Bar B Barn downtown closed its doors during the pandemic in 2020.
