By The Canadian Press

The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) are searching for the driver of a car involved in a multi-vehicle crash that left two people injured Sunday night in Saint-Hyacinthe, the Montérégie region.

A first impact took place between two vehicles, at the intersection of Saint-Louis Avenue and Brunette Ouest Street. The first vehicle then hit a building, before leaving the scene, explains Camille Savoie, spokesperson for the SQ.

The second vehicle reportedly deviated from its lane and hit a third car, coming in the opposite direction on Saint-Louis Street. A fourth vehicle coming in the same direction as the third vehicle was then reportedly unable to avoid the collision and hit the third vehicle.

The SQ says that the drivers of the second and third vehicles were taken to hospital to be treated for serious injuries.

An investigation is ongoing.
