Shortly after the event, the SPVM had not located any injuries, only reporting that shell casings had been found at the scene of the shooting.

Later in the night, police say a man in his 20s with gunshot wounds to the upper body presented himself at a Montreal hospital. His injury, not life-threatening, according to authorities.

“Subsequently, the police were able to confirm that this man, who is a victim, was linked to the shooting event (…). He is also considered to be a suspect, so he was arrested in a hospital center,” explained agent Caroline Chèvrefils, spokesperson for the SPVM.

The man will be met by investigators on Monday at the hospital and is expected to appear in court during the day.

This is a second incident involving shootings in ten days in the same sector of Rosemont–La Petite-Patrie.

Two teenagers lost their lives on March 28 when they hit a tree head-on while trying to to flee police, after having fired in the direction of two vehicles.
