By News Staff

Santé Québec will be officially created in a few weeks once a President and CEO is selected by Health Minister Christian Dubé.

In preparation for this announcement, they’ve already started to get their offices ready. One will be in downtown Montreal at 2021 Union.

Santé Québec’s goal: to ensure predictability, accessibility, efficiency, and sustainability of the network, which will allow better coordination between establishments – the government says.

It will be the health network’s sole employer, responsible for attracting and retaining staff.

The head offices will be in Quebec City at 930 Sainte-Foy Street.

Both the Montreal and Quebec City buildings already house staff from the health ministry.

The gradual transfer of staff to Santé Québec will take place in two phases.

A first wave of integration, mainly involving management staff, is scheduled for June 17.

The second wave of integration is scheduled for September 2024.

According to a press release, approximately 700 positions could be transferred from the health ministry to Santé Québec.
