Multiple road construction projects set to begin this weekend

By News Staff

There are several road closures Montreal drivers need to be aware of starting this weekend.

Ville-Marie Expressway

The Ville-Marie Expressway will be closed as of Friday night to build new piers, replace the drainage systems and expansion joints of the deck and pavement on the road.

The project is expected to continue until 2025, with a break at the end of fall until the end of winter.

Partial or complete closures will be required in the evening, or at night on the weekends.

Also, exit 3 (Montreal downtown/ Guy Street) on Route 136 will have a long-term closure from Friday at 11:59 p.m. until the end of fall.

Vehicles transporting dangerous material or with a height of more than 4.4 metres will need to take the previous exit from Route 136 going east or take exit 2 (Atwater).
