Taylor Swift wears Montreal brand in latest music video ‘Fortnight’

Seems like Taylor Swift has a “Love Story” with Montreal.

In her most recent music video, Fortnight, she is spotted wearing a black dress from local brand: UNTTLD.

“I feel like this was her way of including us in her release and her new era,” said Montreal Swiftie, Daniel Radeschi. “Even if she can’t manage to set up a concert date in our city.”

The lead single is from her latest album “The Tortured Poet’s Department” which she recently released on April 19.

The song features rapper, Post Malone, who appears in the music video.

“The look was haunting,” said Radeschi. “It’s very reminiscent she wore to the Billboard Music Awards in 2019 during the Lover era.”

“At that time, she was dating Joe (Alwyn),” he explained. “She appeared to be in such a positive headspace, and here we are five years later seeing almost the same look but this time telling us a completely different story.”

“I feel like all of this was intentional,” added Radeschi. “Lover was bright, hopeful and fun, we’re seeing the same dress but now in black and white, somber, very much depicting a romance that has fallen apart, died and was buried.”

In April 2023, as Swift’s Eras Tour began, the couple’s split was confirmed after six years together.

“The dress also looks very similar to one she wears on the Eras tour right now during ‘My Tears Ricochet’,” said Radeschi. “Which talks about a funeral and the death of a relationship.”

“So these are all just little tie in’s that the designer incorporated so well into this look,” he added. “And my god, as a Swiftie is it fun to analyze!”

The UNTTLD brand has also dressed a magnitude of celebrities since its creation in 2011.

Céline Dion, Kate Hudson, Charlotte Cardin, and Camilla Cabello are on that star-studded list, among others.

Swift definitely doesn’t have “Bad Blood” with Montreal — even though her Eras Tour is skipping the city.

Fans still can’t seem to “Shake it Off” that her QR code challenge ended here on April 18.

Known for giving Easter Eggs to her new music — an international search happened earlier this month for posters with QR codes on them hinting to Swift’s new album.

“She tries to communicate with us,” explained Radeschi. “We drop everything to figure out and I think it’s one of the most fun attributed about this fandom.”

Locations like Sydney, Paris, Melbourne, and Toronto had the posters and murals spotted by fans — once scanned, a typewriter was seen typing a single letter, which when combined referred to “Fortnight.”

The last letter, reportedly found in Montreal — near a record store in Rosemont.

“These sort of puzzles connect all of us around the globe,” added Radeschi. “Seeing a QR code right here in Montreal was that moment of ‘okay good, she hasn’t forgotten about us’.”
