More shots fired in Vieux-Longueuil

Longueuil police (SPAL) are investigating after gunfire was heard late Wednesday night on Montreal’s South Shore.

The SPAL was alerted around 11:30 p.m. about the gunshots in the Vieux-Longueuil sector on Louise Street, near Chambly Road.

Police officers found shell casings on the ground of the scene, but no victim was located and no suspect arrested, they say.

“Please note that this is the second event to occur since Saturday, around Louise Street,” said Longueuil police in a Facebook post.

“We do not know the motives which could explain this evening’s event,” they added. “And whether the two shootings are connected or not.”

On Saturday around 10 p.m., the SPAL reported firearms going off in the same area of ​​Louise Street, but no victims were reported.

Investigations into both events are ongoing.
