Two people hospitalized after fire in Boucherville

Two men are in hospital after a fire broke out at a house on Montreal’s South Shore overnight.

Longueuil police (SPAL) received a call about the blaze around 2:20 a.m. on de la Perrière Street south in Boucherville.

According to police, a man in his 50s was transported to hospital in critical condition.

The second victim, a man in his 20s was treated for smoke inhalation.

Firefighters quickly brought the flames under control before it could spread to other homes.

A security perimeter has been set up to allow investigators to determine the cause of the fire.

The cause is believed to be related to a problem in the dryer possibly.

The investigation is currently ongoing.
