CN is moving its head office to a new building purchased by the Kevric Real Estate Corporation in Montreal.

The 20-year lease will begin in 2028 and will occupy the first 18 floors of the building. CN will begin moving certain services as early as 2026.

“The CN has been part of the DNA of downtown Montreal for over 100 years. Maintaining the presence of our headquarters in the heart of the city is an integral part of our identity,” said CN executive vice-president and CFO Ghislain Houle.

The building will be north of Square Victoria at 600 de la Gauchetière West.

According to a press release, “Kevric is transforming the building by applying best sustainable development practices. From the start of the design, the project addressed its environmental footprint to minimize and ultimately offset the embodied carbon emissions linked to the transformation.”

The company says the floors will have panoramic views and more natural light, as well as touchless technology, motion-sensor lighting control and automated sunscreens.

The building will have direct interior access to the Square-Victoria-OACI metro station.

“We are convinced of the importance of state-of-the-art office buildings in the city centre to ensure the economic vitality of Montreal,” said Kevric founder Richard Hylands. “The 600 DLG is the most recent example of this conviction, and its transformation brilliantly demonstrates our ability to execute complex and visionary projects.”
