Two vehicles damaged by arson attack in Anjou

Montreal police (SPVM) are investigating an arson attack that left two vehicles damaged overnight in Anjou.

Officers received a 911 call around 1:10 a.m. about a suspicious vehicle on fire that was parked on Yvette-Nobert Avenue, near André-Mathieu Avenue.

When police arrived, firefighters from the Montreal Fire Department (SIM) had already brought the flames under control.

According to the SPVM, firefighters found traces of accelerant at the scene.

The file has been transferred to the Montreal police arson squad.

There were no reported injuries.

The two vehicles were towed for an assessment, and a security perimeter has been set up to allow investigators to analyze the scene.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
