By The Canadian Press

The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) is investigating after a man was found on the side of Highway 15 in Montreal.

Emergency services were called Saturday evening around 7:30 p.m. to Highway 15 north near the Salaberry exit, where the man was seen.

He was transported to a hospital, where his condition stabilized and there was no longer any fear for his life.

“According to initial information, the victim was left on the side of the highway after being injured,” said the SQ’s Nicolas Scholtus.

“The injuries were apparently inflicted by a sharp object.”

The identity of the victim was not immediately released.

“We dispatched an investigator and the forensic identification service to establish the circumstances of this event,” said Scholtus.

The SQ investigation continues.
