West Island Muslim community gathers for Eid ul Adha prayers

More than 650 people attended Eid ul Adha prayers at a reception hall in Dollard-des-Ormeaux Sunday morning.

The event at Olympia Grille was organized by Hilm West Island.

Muslims around the world celebrate the end of the annual pilgrimage of Hajj in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. It is a celebration to honour Abraham’s sacrifice.

Muslims share meat with friends, family and those in need.

While most Montrealers celebrated Sunday, some will be celebrating Monday. Eid ul Adha lasts three days.
