Woman found dead in Rosemont–La Petite-Patrie apartment

A 38-year-old woman was found dead Sunday in Rosemont–La Petite-Patrie.

Montreal police (SPVM) received a 911 call around 5:30 p.m. about an incident in an apartment on Bourbonnière Ave., near Laurier Ave.

“Upon arriving at the scene, police located an unresponsive woman,” said SPVM spokesperson Caroline Chèvrefils.

According to the SPVM, she was pronounced dead at the scene.

The circumstances surrounding the death are currently unknown, but the police indicate that there were signs of violence on the victim’s body.

“A man was also present in the home,” said Chèvrefils. “He is considered to be an important witness,” but the man was met by investigators and released.

Authorities are not providing any details about the relationship or link between the pair.  

A security perimeter was in place to allow investigators and forensic technicians to analyze the scene.
