3 dead in head-on collision in Laval: police

By The Canadian Press

Police say three people were killed and another three were injured in a collision on Route 335 and Saint- Saëns Street in Laval Friday afternoon.

Laval police (SPL) say a truck travelling on Route 335 southbound collided head-on with a vehicle travelling northbound around 2 p.m.

“Both vehicles caught fire. This caused another accident involving two other vehicles,” said Laval police spokesperson Stéphanie Beshara.

On Saturday, the SPL confirmed the deaths of three people, without providing further details on the identification of the victims.

Three people who were injured – a 28-year-old pregnant woman, a 35-year-old man and a seven-year-old child – were out of danger.

The investigation continues and the circumstances of the accident remain unclear.

The area was reopened to traffic Saturday morning.
