Car targeted by arson in Montreal’s St-Laurent

Montreal police (SPVM) are investigating after a vehicle was set on fire in the borough of Saint-Laurent overnight into Tuesday.

Emergency services were called around 2 a.m. about the incident on Claude-Henri-Grignon Street, near Pierre-Daviault Street.

After firefighters extinguished the flames, an incendiary object was found inside the vehicle.

The car appeared to be severely damaged by the flames.

“The circumstances surrounding this fire are currently unknown,” said Officer SPVM spokesperson Caroline Chèvrefils.

The file has been transferred to the Montreal arson squad.

SPVM investigators are analyzing the scene on Tuesday.

No arrests have been made so far.
