Man stabbed in Montreal’s Village

A man in his 30s was stabbed after an alleged altercation with another person in Montreal’s Village on Wednesday afternoon.

It happened at around 1:40 p.m. on Alexandre DeSève, in a park near Sainte-Catherine Street.

The victim sustained minor, non-life-threatening injuries in the lower body and was taken to a hospital to treat his wounds, according to Montreal police spokesperson Sabrina Gauthier. 

Gauthier told CityNews that they have not arrested any suspects connected to the stabbing.

“We’re trying to find out if there were any witnesses, to see the victim as well, but they’ve been taken to hospital at the moment,” said Gauthier. “So, we’ll wait a while, but we haven’t made any arrests.”

The weapon has not been found yet, but police officers are still looking, and the investigation is ongoing.
