Fire breaks out in pharmacy on Montreal’s east end

A fire that broke out inside a pharmacy on Tuesday night on Montreal’s east end was quickly brought under control by firefighters.

The fire started shortly before 3 a.m. in a shopping centre that also included a Jean Coutu pharmacy, located on Sherbrooke Street East, near Granby Avenue, in the Mercier-Hochelaga-Maisonneuve borough.

Firefighters were dispatched to the scene and quickly brought the situation under control, preventing the flames from spreading.

The damage to the pharmacy appears minor and was caused mainly by water and smoke.
