Tree pruner in his 20s dies after being electrocuted

Montreal police have confirmed that a pruner in his 20s has died after being electrocuted while working on a tree on Thursday afternoon in Montreal’s Saint Laurent borough.

The work accident occurred shortly after 4 p.m., in the backyard of a residence on Fraser Street.

Employees of a tree-pruning company were working when for a still unknown reason, one of the workers touched one of the wires, while it was in the tree, several meters from the ground.

The electrical shock proved fatal to him, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Some of his colleagues were treated for shock.
