Boil water advisory lifted in most of Montreal North

The City of Montreal has lifted the precautionary boil water advisory in the Montreal North borough.

However, it remains in effect for a small area: Gervais Avenue between Charleroi Street and Industriel Boulevard.

The boil water advisory was issued earlier this week, after a drop in pressure caused by a manipulation on the water supply network.

As of Thursday afternoon, officials say water samples in the area have been positive.

Despite the advisory being lifted, officials are recommending take some precautions when beginning to reuse water. Those precautions are as follows:

It should also be noted that there is no need to drain your hot water tank.

Those in the affected region of Gervais will still need to boil their water for one minute before consuming it and can use it for hygiene purposes.
