Cargo ship runs aground south of Montreal

A cargo ship ran aground Thursday evening near Montreal’s South Shore.
The Kahnawake Mohawk Peacekeepers said in a Facebook post that the ship ran aground in the St. Lawrence River near Kateri Island.

It happened around 6:40 p.m.
The Peacekeepers say no injuries were reported and there is no danger to the community. They are asking the public to avoid the area as emergency crews respond.
