St-Leonard cafe targeted by arsonists for second time in a few days

A café in Saint-Leonard was targeted for a second time in the last few days by arsonists.

Montreal police (SPVM) received several 911 calls around 2:30 a.m. about the fire on Jean-Talon Street near Michelet Street.

According to officers, the suspect(s) used an accelerant to start the blaze.

The building suffered major damage, as well as the building beside it. 

Several residents in the apartments above the business were evacuated and some suffered minor smoke inhalation.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.

The cafe was targeted by a suspicious fire early Friday morning as well.
