Man dies after being shot in Saint-Lin-Laurentides: SQ

A 50-year-old man died after he was shot in Saint-Lin-Laurentides, in the Lanaudière region, on Wednesday afternoon.

According to Sûreté du Québec (SQ) spokesperson Nicolas Scholtus, gunshots were reported to Montcalm MRC police around 3:30 p.m. and were heard near the intersection of 9th Avenue and Guilbault Street – a residential area of the municipality.

The victim was brought to hospital in critical condition and later died.

“The investigation launched by the SQ’s Crimes Against the Person Investigation Department is now a homicide investigation,” said Scholtus.
