60-year-old man stabbed on Atwater in Montreal

A 60-year-old man was stabbed in the Sud-Ouest borough of Montreal on Thursday morning, after a conflict with another person degenerated.

It happened around 10 a.m., on Atwater near the intersection of Lionel-Groulx.

The man was injured with a sharp object to his upper body.

“He was conscious when the police officer arrived. He was transported to a hospital. The hospital told us that he’s going to survive. There’s no danger for his life. The suspect fled before the police arrived,” said Montreal police (SPVM) spokesperson, Antony Dorelas.

A conflict allegedly started on Atwater and Notre-Dame, and moved towards Lionel-Groulx, where it degenerated and the suspect reportedly stabbed the victim with a sharp object.

Police are on the scene investigating what exactly happened

Atwater is closed between St-Jacques and Notre-Dame for now.

No arrest has been made so far.
