Woman found dead in Sainte-Julienne: SQ

By The Canadian Press

The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) is investigating the death of a woman in her 60s, who was found in a residence in Sainte-Julienne, in the Lanaudière region.

Reports suggest that she may not have been a victim of a criminal act, but died of natural causes. After her death, it seems her dog may have attacked the body, which would be why signs of violence were found on it by authorities.

SQ officers and emergency services received a call at around 1 p.m. on Tuesday and headed to a residence on des Amis Street.

“On site, an unconscious woman was discovered, bearing signs of injuries and violence,” said SQ spokesperson Nicolas Scholtus.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

An autopsy will be performed on the woman’s body to establish the exact cause of death.
