Vehicle targeted by arson attack in Montreal North

Montreal police (SPVM) are investigating after a car was set on fire in Montreal North overnight.

Emergency services were called around 2:30 a.m. Monday about the incident on Maurice-Duplessis Blvd.

Firefighters quickly brought the flames under control, while police began their investigation.

“According to preliminary information, at least one suspect lit the car on fire and left the scene before the police arrived,” explained SPVM spokesperson Antony Dorélas.

A security perimeter has been set up to protect the crime scene, which will be analyzed by investigators and forensic technicians. The vehicle will also be examined.

There have been no arrests, and the investigation is ongoing.
