Pedestrian in his 70s dies after being hit by car in Saint-Sauveur

A man in his 70s who was hit by a motorist in Saint-Sauveur, in the Laurentians, on Tuesday evening has succumbed to his injuries, the Sûreté du Québec confirmed on Wednesday morning.

Emergency services were called around 9 p.m. to intervene on Jean-Adam Road, also known as Route 364, regarding a collision.

The initial information gathered by the Sûreté du Québec indicates that a driver was not able to avoid a collision with the pedestrian who was walking on the road.

Seriously injured, the man was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The provincial police force has opened an investigation to determine the causes and circumstances of the accident.
