Checkpoint on Highway 15 North leads to 2 arrests

Two arrests were made on Saturday and Sunday at a checkpoint at the l’Acadie exit of Highway 15 north.

The first arrest happened shortly before 1 a.m. on Saturday, with the Sûreté du Québec saying a 15-year-old suspect was arrested after speeding through the checkpoint.

Police managed to stop the vehicle by using a spike strip, which punctured the vehicle’s tire. The vehicle was later found abandoned, but the suspect was found and arrested for dangerous driving, obstructing the work of police, driving without a licence and endangering the safety of others.

The second arrest happened on Sunday. The SQ says a 21-year-old man was found driving with a licence, was wanted under warrant and allegedly broke one or more conditions of probation.
