Arson attack on vehicle in Ahuntsic-Cartierville

The Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) responded to a 911 call about an arson attack on a vehicle in the Ahuntsic-Cartierville borough Saturday morning. 

The attack occurred at around 1:40 a.m. on a private property located on de Louisbourg Street, near De Tracy Street.

This incident is among a recent string of arson attacks taking place on the island, with a vehicle arson attack taking place in Dorval Wednesday night. 

A spokesperson for the SPVM says the car was severely damaged by an incendiary object, and that there is imminent proof this was a criminal offence. 

The investigation has been transferred to the arson section of the SPVM, with a forensic technician currently inspecting the vehicle.

The spokesperson added there are no suspects, and no arrests have been made. 

No injuries were reported.
