Upcoming road closures this weekend in Montreal

A full closure of Highway 25 in both directions, including the Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine tunnel, is planned for the weekend of Oct. 25-27. The closure of Highway 40 west is also planned from Oct. 25 to 28.

Highway 25 towards the South Shore

Complete closure between exit no. 4 (Montreal downtown/Pont J-Cartier) and the entrance from Charron Island

  • From Friday 11 p.m. to Saturday 8 a.m.
  • From Saturday 11 p.m. to Sunday 9 a.m.
  • Entrances to this section will be closed 30 minutes before the complete closure of the highway
  • Souligny Avenue (eastbound) will be closed 30 minutes before the complete closure of the highway between Dickinson and Honoré-Beaugrand streets

Highway 25 towards Montreal

Complete closure between exit 90 (Highway 20 West, route 132, La Prairie / USA, Varennes, P.-E.-Trudeau airport) from Highway 20 and the entrance from Sherbrooke Street East.

  • From Friday 11 p.m. to Saturday 8 a.m.
  • From Saturday 11 p.m. to Sunday 9 a.m.
  • Entrances to this section will be closed 30 minutes before the complete closure of the highway.

Chemin de la Côte-de-Liesse eastbound

  • From Friday 10 p.m. to Monday 5 a.m.
    • Partial closure (one lane open), between Devonshire Road and the turnoff to Highway 40 West
    • Complete closure of the U-turn leading to Highway 40 West, east of Devonshire Road

Chemin de la Côte-de-Liesse westbound

  • From Friday 10 p.m. to Saturday 5 a.m.
  • From Sunday 10 p.m. to Monday 5 a.m.
  • Complete closure, between Highway 40 West entrance from Marcel-Laurin Boulevard and Authier Street.
    • From Saturday 5 a.m. to Sunday 10 p.m.: partial closure (one lane open) in the area of the ramp leading to Devonshire Road

The Ville-Marie Expressway (Route 136) will be closed eastbound, between the Turcot interchange and downtown, during the weekend of October 25, 2024. This closure is required to continue repair work on the slab. Congestion episodes are to be expected.

Route 136 (Ville-Marie Highway) eastbound (towards downtown)

  • Complete closure between the Turcot interchange and the entrance from rue de la Cathédrale, from Friday 11:59 p.m. to Monday 5 a.m.

Default closures in the Turcot interchange

  • Ramp from A-15 (Décarie) SOUTH to R- 136 EAST , from Friday 11:59 p.m. to Monday 5 a.m.;
  • Ramp from A-15 NORTH to R- 136 EAST , from Friday 11 p.m. to Monday 5 a.m.;
  • Entrance from Boulevard des Tanneries towards R- 136 EST , from Friday 11 p.m. to Monday 5 a.m.
  • The reserved lane on Highway 20 eastbound, from the Saint-Pierre and Montréal-Ouest interchanges, will remain open.
