Pedestrian hit by vehicle in Saint-Michel

A 56-year-old man is in hospital after being hit by a vehicle while crossing the street on Wednesday in Saint-Michel.
According to Montreal police (SPVM), the incident occurred around 7 p.m. at the corner of Saint-Michel Blvd. and Jarry Street.
The driver, a 26-year-old man, was heading south on Saint-Michel Blvd. when he hit the pedestrian.
When officers arrived, they found the victim unconscious on the ground, and CPR attempts were made before he was transported to hospital.
His life is considered to be in danger.
A security perimeter was set up to allow collision investigators to determine the circumstances of the event.
Surveillance cameras will also be examined as part of the investigation.
