Montreal’s 2024 cruise ship season comes to a close

By News Staff

It’s an image that screams summer: two cruise ships docked on a sunny (albeit cold) day at Montreal’s port.

The Insignia and the Nautica – both from Oceana Cruises – carried more than 1,300 passengers to Montreal to visit the city.

But the summery sight was in fact the last one of the season, as the two cruise ships are the final ones to visit Montreal this year.

It marks an end to the cruise season for Montreal, which saw 41 dockings from 20 vessels — meaning some made multiple trips. Nine cruise ships visited the city for the first time.

More than 50,000 passengers arrived on those cruises between May 4 and Oct. 28, providing an estimated $25 million in economic benefits to the city.
