Île-aux-Tourtes Bridge closed this weekend

By News Staff

Drivers should be aware that the Île-aux-Tourtes Bridge will be completely closed this weekend.

The Transport Ministry said the closure is required to reconfigure the lanes in anticipation of reopening the fourth lane – which is supposed to happen this year.

The bridge will be closed from Friday at 11:59 p.m. until Monday at 5 a.m.

Highway 40 westbound will be closed between Exit 41 (Ste-Anne-de-Bellevue / des Anciens-Combattants Blvd. / Highway 20 westbound / Île Perrot) and the entrance from Saint-Charles Ave.

Heading eastbound, all lanes will be closed between Exit 35 (Vaudreuil-sur-le-Lac / Vaudreuil-Dorion / St-Charles Ave. and the entrance from des Anciens-Combattants Blvd.

The toll on Highway 30 will be suspended.

On Monday at 5 a.m., three lanes will be available on the bridge, including two towards Montreal during the morning rush.

Work may be postponed, extended, or cancelled due to weather conditions or operational constraints.

Drivers can also consult Québec 511, to properly plan their trip.
